The V Sentry performs dual functions: it monitors your receiver batter voltage and warns you when it gets low, and it serves as a lost plane finder by beeping loudly when you turn your radio off (which also reminds you to turn your receiver off when not in use). It's a great educational kit for learning soldering and some basic Ohm's law applications.
This kit includes all the parts you need (even solder) to build a V Sentry for four or five cell operation with the exception of a piezo buzzer (sold separately). The buzzer is sold separately to allow you to choose a buzzer type, or to let you use your own buzzer (or light!).
Also included are color instructions explaining assembly and use; in addition an explanation of the Maxim Supervisory chip is given. Operational description of the circuit and equations are given to let the user customize their V Sentry (make the buzzer sound at any voltage, and change how the V Sentry reacts to no-signal).
